Odnokon; Mosher each win second under-19 championships

Both Grace Odnokon and Ryan Mosher are two-time Saskatchewan under-19 champions following wins at the Saskatchewan Junior Championships this week in Warman.

Odnokon, 16, led from start to finish for her second straight win, which includes the under-17 trophy as well.

She will again lead Team Saskatchewan into the Canadian Junior Girls’ Championships in August. Chloe Wills (Kyle) was second, Tina Liu of Saskatoon was third, they also qualify for nationals.

Natalie Maunula of North Battleford won the under-15 girls division and punched her ticket to the Canadian Under-15 Championships in Bath, Ont. in late August.

Like Odnokon, this is Mosher’s second overall junior championship, but not consecutively. The Saskatoon product won the under-19 and under-17 titles in 2024.

Last year the now 18-year-old was third overall.

Committed to play NCAA Division 1 golf at Sacred Heart University in the fall, Mosher will test his talents at the USGA Junior Championships in Pennsylvania later this month.

He is the first Saskatchewan junior to compete in the prestigious event since Jeff Makohon in 1998.

Mosher’s score of 14-under par, 205 is the lowest under par score recorded in the event in a three tournament.

Shae Maunula is the under-17 champion.

The North Battleford 16-year-old had the lead after day one of the event, but Mosher’s record breaking performance was too much to overcome, but he was the top under-17 year-old competitor.

He placed second overall and earned a spot on Team Saskatchewan at the Canadian Junior Boys Championships in Regina in late August.

After finishing second in the under-15 men’s age group last year in Lloydminster, Melville’s Keaton Kreklewich got redemption winning the category in 2026.

The 14-year-old will also take part in the Under-15 Canadian Championships in Bath, Ont. in late August.

Regina’s Hudson Deibert has his second straight under-13 championship.

Still just 11 years old, he still has another year of eligibility in the age category for next season’s championship in Humboldt.
