Nesbitt wins amateur championship; youngest player in Saskatchewan history to win men’s title

Austin Nesbitt is the 2026 Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Championship winner and the youngest to win the tournament in it’s 115 year history.

The Pilot Butte, Sask. product and member of Wascana Country Club (WCC) opened the 72 hole event with an even par 72, went on to shoot three more rounds in the red, just enough to hold off fellow junior Ethan Hunter and a second WCC member, Drayjon Sparvier. Nesbitt finished at 7-under par, 281 in the championship and become the first WCC member since Tyler Wright in 2017.

Sparvier and Hunter both shot 282.

Three players tied at 4-under par, Aricin Franklin, Connor Scissons, and Max Regier.
