Club Volunteer of the Year | Lindsay Folk, Wascana Country Club

The Wascana Country Club in Regina has nominated Lindsay Folk for the 2026 Golf Saskatchewan ‘Club Volunteer of the Year.’

Folk was the chair of the tournament host committee this past August for the Canadian Junior Boys Championships hosted by the WCC.

Wascana Country Club is pleased to nominate Lindsay Folk for the 2026 Saskatchewan Golf Volunteer of the Year in recognition of her outstanding leadership and volunteer contributions to the 2026 Canadian Junior Boys Championship. As Chair of Wascana Country Club’s Tournament Committee, Lindsay volunteered her time to lead more than a year of planning and preparation for this national championship, hosted by the Club in August 2026. The event welcomed 156 junior golfers from across Canada, including 11 from Saskatchewan, and brought together 10 committees and more than 100 volunteers.

Lindsay played a central role in coordinating this significant undertaking. She chaired regular planning meetings, established committee responsibilities, managed timelines, and kept everyone organized and accountable throughout the process. She also served as the key liaison between the Host Committee and Golf Canada, maintaining consistent communication and ensuring everyone was working toward the same goals.

Her attention to detail, dedication, and willingness to help wherever needed were exceptional. Whether managing preparations behind the scenes, supporting committee members and volunteers, or representing the Club throughout championship week, Lindsay was always ready to step in and do what was needed.

Hosting a national championship of this scale requires tremendous coordination, collaboration, and volunteer support. Through her leadership, Lindsay helped bring together members, staff, and volunteers to deliver a memorable championship experience for players, officials, and everyone involved.

Her efforts also extended beyond Wascana Country Club. The championship provided an opportunity to showcase the City of Regina and Saskatchewan’s golf community on a national stage while welcoming some of Canada’s most promising young golfers, including 11 athletes from Saskatchewan who had the opportunity to compete in their home province.

Throughout the planning process and championship week, Lindsay generously contributed her time, bringing people together, keeping preparations on track, and ensuring that even the smallest details received the attention they deserved. Her commitment was instrumental in making the championship a success.

Lindsay’s contributions reflect the important role volunteers play in supporting the game of golf. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment to Wascana Country Club and the broader Saskatchewan golf community make her an exceptionally deserving candidate for the 2026 Saskatchewan Golf Volunteer of the Year.
