REGINA, Sask.— Following six NextGen Championships and other junior tournaments across the country, the field for the 2026 Canadian Junior Boys Championship, presented by BDO is set. The national championship is set to run August 11-15 at Wascana Country Club in Regina, Sask.
Saskatchewan has 11 players in the field.
The field of 156 of Canada’s top junior golfers will tee off in the 72-hole event and battle for the Silver Cup, awarded annually to the Canadian Junior Boys champion. The winner of the 2026 Canadian Junior Boys Championship will earn coveted exemptions into both the 2027 U.S. Junior Amateur and 122nd Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship in 2027.
“We have a great field ready to compete for our Canadian Junior Boys Championship,” said Rogan Doyle, Tournament Director, Golf Canada. “We would like to thank all the staff and volunteers at Wascana Country Club for all the work they have put in to prepare the course as we welcome some of Canada’s best young talents to Regina.”
Ryan Mosher of Saskatoon, Sask. headlines the list of in-season NextGen Championship winners teeing it up in his home province after claiming two wins in the month of June. Mosher won both the NextGen Western and NextGen Prairie Championship to earn his spot in the field.
Tiger Xie of Surrey, B.C. (NextGen Pacific), Team Canada NextGen member Alexis Rouleau of Montreal, Que. (NextGen Ontario), Lucas Zhao of Brossard, Que, (NextGen Quebec), and Ethan Reid of Toronto, Ont. (NextGen Atlantic) also joined the winners circle through the NextGen Championship circuit this summer.
Along with Rouleau, two Team Canada NextGen teammates will be in the field including Chase Jerome of Ottawa, Ont. and Eddie Gu of Aurora, Ont. The trio recently played in the 121st Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship in Calgary, Alta. Rouleau led the group finishing T23, Gu finished T46, and Jerome missed the cut. In addition to Rouleau’s NextGen Ontario Championship win, he also won the Will Lowery Junior Championship on the AJGA and Golf Quebec’s Boys Junior Championship this season. Jerome’s best finish this season was runner-up at the AJGA Junior at Colgate. Gu has recorded one win this year which came at the Orlando International Amateur Championship and finished T9 at the Ontario Men’s Amateur Championship. The three teammates are all making their third appearance at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship. Rouleau’s best finish at the Canadian Junior Boys Championship was T11 in 2025, Gu finished T4 in 2024, and Jerome was T51 in 2024.
Owen Beaulac of Victoria, B.C. and Carter Lavigne of Moncton, N.B. are in the field and are past Canadian U15 champions. Beaulac won last year at Pitt Meadows Golf Club, in Pitt Meadows, B.C. Lavigne won in 2024 at the Elmira Golf Club in Woolwich, Ont. Although the Canadian U15 Championship only started in 2024, Beaulac and Lavigne look to become the first players to win both the Canadian U15 Champion and the Canadian Junior Boys Championship.

Since 1938, the Canadian Junior Boys Championship has brought together the top junior talent in the country for four rounds of entertaining competition. Those to have previously claimed the Silver Cup have gone on to serve memorable careers in the game of golf, including Canadian Golf Hall of Famers Doug Silverberg (1950), George Knudson (1955), Gary Cowan (1956) and Doug Roxburgh (1970), as well as current PGA TOUR stars Nick Taylor and Adam Svensson who each won the tournament in 2006 and 2012 respectively.
In addition to the 18-and-under championship, the 16-and-under Juvenile Championship has featured in the tournament since 1970, with the winner receiving the Jack Bailey Trophy. Only 12 players have ever claimed both the Juvenile and Junior championship in the same year, with Dawson Lew of Toronto, Ont. winning both last year in 2025.
The national championship will also feature an Inter-Provincial Team Championship that will run concurrently through the first 36 holes of competition. Each day, the lowest two out of three individual 18-hole scores will count towards the team score for players representing provinces. Team Ontario looks to win their fourth consecutive Inter-Provincial title.
The first round of the 2026 Canadian Junior Boys Championship will get underway on Tuesday, August 11 with the final round taking place on Friday, August 14. Practice rounds will take place on Monday, August 10.
