Late July of 2026 will be a week Wynyard’s Ayden Melsted won’t forget when it comes to his golf game.
The 16-year-old signed for a 30 on July 26 at his home course, the Wynyard Golf Club which was witnessed by Tylan Wallin of Humboldt. That tied the club record held by Warren Lorenz in 1998.
Melsted also joins his mother Alana on the course record plague. She holds the women’s back tee record at 35.
Melsted followed the performance by shooting 63 in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour event at Moon Lake Golf and Country Club. He shot 68 in round two and won the overall junior men’s division by six shots.
He spoke to Golf Saskatchewan about the rounds and his love for the sport and Wynyard.
