The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) was back in action in Saskatchewan on Aug. 15 and 16 with the annual stop at Elk Ridge Golf Resort.
Just over 100 players were registered for the 36 hole event the precedents the Junior Men’s Lobstick happening now at Waskesiu Golf Course.

Alyxa Melsted won again on the MJT in the under-15 women’s category. The Wynyard resident shot 77 and 79 to win the division by seven shots over Natalie Maunula of North Battleford.
Foam Lake’s Callie Glover was third at 178 (86, 92).
In the 15 to 19 women’s age group, Air Ronge product Miranda Merriman captured the victory. She shot back-to-back rounds of 84 to earn the victory by 13 strokes over Kora Montour of Oakville, Man. Hailey Bollinger from Swift Current was third.

Hudson Deibert continued his domination of the under-13 men’s category with another win, this time the Royal Regina junior held off seven other players with a score of 146.
Cohen Bridge of Saskatoon was second, he shot 147, Melville’s Caleb O’Brien was third at 161.
Manitoba’s Ty Montour took home the under-15 men’s crown. His 36 hole score of 158 was two lower than Jace Munro of Swift Current. The Elmwood Golf Club member signed for rounds of 81 and 79. Connor Regehr of Regina was third at 162.
The back tees on the men’s side ended in a three-way tie at 149.

Tylan Wallin and Ayden Melsted went to a playoff to decide the winner in the under-17 age group. Melsted won on the first hole.
Shae Maunula of North Battleford was third just a shot back.

Meanwhile in the under-19 age group Oliver Matyczuk of Saskatoon also shot 149 to tie for the overall win.
Levi Young of Warman was second at 152 (78, 74) and coming in third was Kaleb Cournoyer of Prince Albert, he shot 153.
